Comparison of Maximum Likelihood - basedDetection for Two Multi - rate Access Schemes forCDMA

چکیده
| Future wireless systems will need to accommodate information sources with diierent data rates. Direct-Sequence Code-Division Multiple-Access (DS/CDMA) is a multiple access technique that is well suited to provide multi-rate access. Thus, in this paper, multi-rate communication systems are considered for the transmission of DS/CDMA wireless signals. Performance for maximum likelihood-based detection is studied in the context of two multi-rate access methodologies: multi-code access where high data rate users multiplex their information streams onto multiple codes; and variable spreading length access where signature sequences of diierent lengths are assigned to users with diierent data rates. Various maximum likelihood-based detection schemes for the variable spreading length system are considered as they can achieve near-optimal performance and thus provide reference points for comparison with sub-optimal schemes. In addition, asymp-totic multiuser performance measures are calculated and bounded to compare performance of the two systems.

The problem of time delay estimation in multi-rate asynchronous Direct-Sequence Code-Division-Multiple-Access systems is investigated. The nature of multi-rate traac requires the modiication of previously proposed single-rate algorithms in order to eeciently exploit the properties of the signals. متن کاملA comparison of algorithms for maximum likelihood estimation of Spatial GLM models
In spatial generalized linear mixed models, spatial correlation is assumed by adding normal latent variables to the model. In these models because of the non-Gaussian spatial response and the presence of latent variables the likelihood function cannot usually be given in a closed form, thus the maximum likelihood approach is very challenging. The main purpose of this paper is to introduce two n...
متن کاملImproving the Performance of Bayesian Estimation Methods in Estimations of Shift Point and Comparison with MLE Approach
A Bayesian analysis is used to detect a change-point in a sequence of independent random variables from exponential distributions. In This paper, we try to estimate change point which occurs in any sequence of independent exponential observations. The Bayes estimators are derived for change point, the rate of exponential distribution before shift and the rate of exponential distribution after s...
متن کاملComparison of two integration schemes for a micropolar plasticity model
Micropolar plasticity provides the capability to carry out post-failure simulations of geo-structures due to microstructural considerations and embedded length scale in its formulation. An essential part of the numerical implementation of a micropolar plasticity model is the integration of the rate constitutive equations. Efficiency and robustness of the implementation hinge on the type of int...
